Valley City Public Schools: Referendum Information

On June 10, 2025, voters in the Valley City Public School District will decide whether to approve a $46 million school referendum.  This referendum focuses on addressing the district’s facility priorities, including school consolidation, ADA accessibility, school safety and security, deferred maintenance, modernizing educational spaces, right-sizing school square feet to align with changing enrollment, and maximizing operational efficiencies.  If approved, the referendum will allow the district to:

·      Build a new school (grades 4-12) connected to Jefferson Elementary School

·      Close and sell the District Office and Washington Elementary School

·      Demolish the 1919 school building with additions from the 1940s and 1950s at VCHS

·      Renovate, as needed, the portions of the 1991 and 1971 school building at VCHS

·      Add a parking lot on school property for the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC)
